The Hikes

This area is amazing when it comes to getting outdoors. Why, you may ask? Well, if you want to go exploring, it’s already at your doorstep! When you wake up, you can practically step out the door and the adventure already awaits. In a place like this, there’s only one way to get out there too (IMO) and that’s with my own two feet. By hiking, trekking, and traversing the land, figuring out the nooks and crannies and the history the area. Some hikes around here offer lots of elevation gains, while others could be just a stroll through the woods featuring birds, wild flowers, history and so many other gifts that this area provides.

When it comes to choosing a hike, I always like to ask: what kind of experience are you looking for? Whether its views of Lake George, rolling mountains, lots of birds and signs of wildlife, or if it’s challenging elevation gains, a pond to have lunch at, whatever your interest is, there are plenty of options and a place for everyone to enjoy. These are all things we will go over to make sure you are comfortable, ready, and excited to get out there.

How long would you like to venture for before heading back to reality?

The Pinnacle
short & sweet

Perfect for an early morning sunrise hike overlooking the town of Bolton Landing with the sun rising over the east side of the lake and mountains. Steep incline, but there are benches set up on the trail and it’s not long before you reach the top.

Cat & Thomas Mountain
half or full day

There’s a whole range of ways we could go about these trails. There’s the Cat & Thomas loop, the red or yellow trails, and many other routes. Thomas summit has more rolling mountains with Lake George in the background and Cat summit has mostly lake views with the mountains around the lake in the distance.

Pole Hill Pond
full day

Depending on how fast you would like to do the hike, it has some pretty decent accents that makes for it to be a more moderate hike for beginners, but it levels out as well in areas. There are moss-covered streams and lots of birds and wildlife. Pole Hill Pond doesn’t have those big summit views. Instead, the trail brings you to a pond where I personally love to hang a hammock, read, and have lunch before making the trek back to the car.

Tongue Mountain Range
half or full day

On this range, there are so many options. A few in and outs I enjoy are Deer Leap to 5th Peak, Lean-To, and 5th Peak Lean-To itself. It all depends on how far and long you would like to hike for. There’s a trail along Northwest Bay to Malcolm Point which is definitely good for beginners or someone who wants to see wildlife and be by the water. There’s also loop options on this range treks closer to a full day.

Of course we not limited to these hikes, if you have done some research and know of a trail that you’d like some help traversing and exploring, I love going to places all over! Let’s get out there!

The most important thing is that you have as much fun as you can while having a memorable experience. Sometimes the hikes can be harder than anticipated, but that’s what I am here for. I will guide you on the trail best fit for your exploring goals, every step of the way.
